Chris Gallimore - Blair Forster Memorial TrustChris Gallimore

Position: CEO of the BFMT UK Branch
Work: Head of English and Coordinator of Development at Li Po Chun United World College ’94 – ’00.As well as teaching English, he is also an IB examiner and owns his own vineyard.

Chris has not only worked closely with Blair during his six years at LPCUWC, but he and his wife, Jane, have also become close friends of the Forsters. Not only did they visit Chris and Jane in Snitterfield, where they live in England, but they also found them by chance in a café in Fijiac, France one balmy summer and spent a few sunny days with them in their lovely retreat.

So Chris had no hesitations about becoming a Trustee and being such a valuable asset for the Trust. This is because of his earlier professional involvement with UNESCO in educational development in Papua New Guinea, which has helped Chris appreciate what is needed to set the Trust up in its aim of working to benefit education in East Timor. He understands both the rewards and difficulties involved in seeking to improve opportunities in a newly formed nation and his advice and enthusiasm has been an inspiration. Based in the UK, Chris has worked actively to establish the Blair Forster Memorial Trust, as a company limited by guarantee, and an application for charitable status is now underway.

Chris is the Trustee who is our motivator and driving force. He propels us into the next generation of ideas and energizes us into action beyond what we thought was possible. Even though he is living in a different country, he still manages to influence the path along which the Trust is traveling.
